So far reports are not good as fighting is escalating a rapid pace and endangering the threat of a much larger conflict. In fairness to the Israeli's the actions they are taking are not more than punitive punishment for attacks on its territory that have been going on for the past few years. albeit the scale of the reprisals re larger than ever before. It is more than just the kidnapping of the two soldiers by Hezbollah. or capturing as ome sectors call it - of POW's by the group in Lebanon. But the actions of Israel spark concern on many fronts least of all the people who use fossil fuels- which mean's the rest of te world.
- The toll in three days of clashes rose to 73 killed in Lebanon and at least 12 Israelis.
- International alarm grew over the fighting and oil prices rose to above $78 a barrel.
- The U.N. Security Council held an emergency session on the violence.
- Lebanon has accused Israel of launching "a widespread barbaric aggression."
